The Philippine National Police’s (PNP) Police Security and Protection Group (PSPG) of the Philippine National Police (PNP) marked its 32nd Anniversary on May 10, 2023, with simple and meaningful ceremonies in Camp Crame, Quezon City.
The event was celebrated with the theme “Serbisyong Nagkakaisa: Ang Pangkaligtasang Pananggalang Hatid ay Malasakit, Ugnayan, at Kapayapaan para sa Kaunlaran,” emphasizing the PSPG’s commitment to public safety and security through service, compassion, unity, and peace-building.
The highlight of the event was the presentation of awards to outstanding personnel and special awardees, including the Presidential Adviser on Police and Military Affairs, Secretary Roman Felix, a former Director of PSPG. Several past Directors of PSPG also attended the said activity. The event was graced by the presence of distinguished guests, including high-ranking officials from the PNP, foreign stakeholders of PSPG and other stakeholders, reflecting the PSPG’s continuous efforts in fostering partnerships and building bridges across borders.
In his speech, PNP Chief Police General Benjamin Acorda, Jr. recognized and lauded PSPG’s unwavering dedication to maintaining public safety and security. He highlighted the unit’s core values of courage, duty, and loyalty, as well as its outstanding performance and professionalism.
The PNP Chief also reiterated his call for “Serbisyong Nagkakaisa” and the PNP’s Five-Focused Agendas, emphasizing the importance of collaborative efforts and community engagement in establishing a formidable police presence.
“This is an opportune time to reiterate my call to all the members of the PNP: Serbisyong Nagkakaisa. By working together and harnessing the power of collaborative efforts, we can establish a formidable police presence and foster genuine engagement with our communities,” PGen Acorda said.
“The challenges we face as an institution may be multifaceted, but I have no doubt that together, we can overcome them. By working together, we can indeed make a difference in the lives of our fellow Filipinos and make our communities safer and more secure,” PGen Acorda added.
The PSPG’s commitment to providing public safety and security has been demonstrated over the past 32 years, through its tireless efforts in ensuring the safety of government officials, foreign dignitaries, VIPs, and other special guests of the country. Its dedication to securing vital government installations round the clock reflects its unwavering commitment to serving the public with integrity, professionalism, and utmost dedication.
