The Regional Police Security and Protection Unit 6 (RPSPU6) headed by PLTCOL JULBARI V ASDANI conducted protective security operations during the Dinagyang Festival 2023 of Iloilo City from January 18 to 24, 2023.

The Dinagyang Festival commemorates the arrival of the Malay settlers and the legendary barter of Panay Island from the natives called Ati. It is one of the biggest and world-class festivals in the Philippines celebrated every 4th Sunday of January which attracts thousands of both local and international tourists. 

As part of the Task Group Dinagyang Festival 2023 of Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO), this Unit deployed seventeen (17) Protective Security Personnel to provide Close-In Security for the whole duration of the activity to all Visiting VIPs in Iloilo City such as the U.S. Chief Consul, Ambassadors of Romania, Poland, Indonesia and Royal Thai, Representatives from Embassy of Hungary and Democratic Socialist of Sri Lanka to the Philippines, and several High-Ranking National Government Officials.

The protective security operations of RPSPU6 were successful with no untoward incident happened to all Visiting VIPs, thus contributing to the attainment of “zero casualty” and “zero incident” policy of the PNP in the conduct of Major Event Security.

PBGEN ANTONIO C YARRA, Director, Police Security and Protection Group (PSPG) commended RPSPU 6 for efficiently conducting protective security operations in the said major event. He also reiterated them the new motto of PSPG, “Service First!” because our service to people is already our service to God.
